November 30 is the first Sunday of Advent. We will begin the Advent season in the chapel with the 8:30 AM Contemporary Worship with Hanging of the Greens and lighting of the Advent Wreath. If you attend this service, you are encouraged to bring an ornament from home to hang on the Christmas tree in the chapel. At 9:30 the Evangelism & Outreach Committee invites everyone to an Advent Breakfast in the Fellowship Hall. Everyone can help decorate the Christmas tree in the Fellowship Hall. Over the years, families have contributed ornaments for this tree, but we're always looking for new ones, especially if your family is not represented. This is a fun way to begin the Advent-Christmas season. The Hanging of the Greens and lighting of the Advent Wreath will also be a part of our 11:00 AM Traditional Worship Service. Wreaths will be hung on the sconces in the sanctuary during the service and members may be asked to hang Chrismons on the tree at the appropriate time. Special symbols and rituals help remind us of God's Incarnation as a baby at Christmas and draw us closer to Jesus. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
