Session Highlights for Stated Meeting January 26, 2015

• Mark Hinchcliff moderated the meeting that began at 7:00 pm with an opening prayer.
• Cindy Edgerton led the Session in a devotional.
• Minutes from the Stated meeting of 11-24-14, the Called meeting of 1-7-15, and the Annual Congregational meeting on 1-25-15 were approved.
• A financial report was received from the Church Treasurer.
• The results of three e-votes were recorded: 1) to approve the 2015 Church Budget, 2) to approve the transfer of Will and Cindy Franck to First Presbyterian Church in Greensboro, NC, and 3) to not approve DeCapo Virginia’s use of our building until further information was received.  Note: the group was approved at the Called meeting on 1-7-15.
• It was noted with sadness the death of J. English Ford on December 24, 2014.
• The Session approved to amend the Manual of Operations to make an exception to the six-year rule for the Clerk of Session through January 2016.
• The Session Annual Statistical Report for 2014 was reviewed and approved for electronic submission by the clerk.
• A document from the Circuit Court for the City of Martinsville for the Appointment of a Replacement Trustee, signed by the judge on December 1, 2014, was received.
• A letter was approved to be mailed to church members who have not been active in over 10 years, inviting them back to church.
• Reports were received from committee moderators.
• Victoria Esarey was elected as Commissioner to the Presbytery meeting on February 14 in Lynchburg.
• The meeting was concluded with prayer at 8:40 pm by the moderator.
