Session Highlights for Stated Meeting March 30, 2015

• Mark Hinchcliff moderated the meeting that began at 7:00 pm.
• Virginia Truitt provided the devotional and opening prayer.
• Tracy Hinchcliff and Joan Montgomery are sharing responsibilities for the planning of the Presbytery Meeting at our church on Thursday, May 7. Each Session committee is asked to contribute a part in the preparation and assignments were distributed.  Tracy and Joan will meet with Circle leaders on March 31 to discuss their roles of providing food for the luncheon. All church members are encouraged to be involved.
• The Treasurer reported that money would need to be taken from the Endowment Fund to meet payroll this month due to lower contributions and pledges not coming in.
• The Session approved the transfer of Mike Powell and Jessica Showalter to First Presbyterian Church in Myrtle Beach, SC.
• A motion was approved to change the selection, election and training of ruling elders, trustees, treasurer, and clerk to a calendar year rather than a program year. All will take office in January instead of September. 
• The Session wished to recognize Smith Chaney for repairing the chair lift and his work in making our church a safer place, at no cost to the church.
• The Session approved having a Session Retreat for strategic planning and spiritual development. 
• It was announced that a church-wide clean-up will be on Saturday, May 2 in preparation for the Presbytery meeting.
• The meeting was concluded at 9:50 with prayer by the Moderator.
