Session Highlights for Stated Meeting June 29, 2015

• Mark Hinchcliff moderated the meeting and opened with prayer that began at 7:00 pm.
• Neil Tatum provided a devotional and prayer.
• Milt Davis, Church Treasurer, gave a report for the month on expenditures and income.  Letters will go out soon to those who may have forgotten to send in pledges
• Pastor Mark reported on events of the church and the home/hospital visits made in June. He also gave a report on the Massanetta Retreat and the Youth Heifer Project in Arkansas.
• The transfer of Lucy Wilson to Hope Presbyterian Church (PCA) in Martinsville was approved.
• The Session approved to host the Thanksgiving musical service the Sunday before Thanksgiving, sponsored by the Ministerial Association.
• A report was received about Vacation Bible School beginning with a kick-off on Sunday, July 12 at 5:30 with a barbecue dinner. The congregation is invited to attend.
• The city approved the permit for the new church sign. The cost of the sign is donated by an anonymous church member.
• It was announced that Rally Day is September 13 with a Backpack Blessing during the worship service.
• The Session approved the charging of $10 to church members who wish a personal copy of the new pictorial directory.
• A congregational meeting was approved for September 20 after the 11:00 service to elect elders and trustees for the Class of 2018.
• The meeting was concluded at 9:10 with prayer by the Moderator.
