Adult Music

There are at least three opportunities at First Presbyterian for members to express their faith through music and use their talents to serve and praise God.

By far the largest and first choir is the Congregational Choir. Hymn singing is a vital part of each worship service. The hymns, as well as the choral music, seek to reflect the theme of each service.

The Chancel Choir leads the hymn singing and usually sings the anthem and other service music in the 11:00 a.m. Sunday service in the Sanctuary. This group anchors the special Christmas music program, which may also include guest musicians and handbells. Adults and teens who enjoy singing are invited to become part of this musical family. Weekly Wednesday rehearsals are held, plus a warm-up and review of the music at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday.

The Sanctuary Ringers is our Adult Handbell Choir. We have a complete five octave set of Malmark Handbells and a complete five octave set of Malmark Choir Chimes.

If you have the interest, time and talent, I would appreciate the opportunity to meet you and talk with you further about the Adult Music Opportunities for you at First Presbyterian.

Cynthia Dobrinski, Director of  Music

First Presbyterian Church would like to welcome Deborah Burgess, who leads the Worship/Praise Band at the 8:30 service on Sunday mornings in the Chapel. This service includes an order of worship and songs that are selected from contemporary Christian music, the Presbyterian Hymnal, and other sources in a casual comfortable atmosphere. The current ensemble consists of singers, drums, violin, and piano. Rehearsals are held every other Thursday at 7:00 PM. Please connect with Deborah if you are interested in becoming a part of this wonderful service. We would love to have you join us!
